GV II

House. Early-mid C17 with early C20 extension. Well-coursed
grit-stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. 2-cell, with dairy
to rear of 1st cell, direct-entry plan. 1st cell has 4-light
double-chamfered mullioned window, with 4-light window with arched
lights and sunken spandrels above; doorway has composite jambs
Tudor-arched lintel with chamfered surround and carved spandrels.
2nd cell has 6-light mullioned-and-transomed window with 5-light
window with arched lights above. Set above this window are 3
projecting rainwater spouts and corbels supporting a stone gutter,
an unusual feature. Continuous string-course above ground-floor
windows. Extension to right has lateral stack. 2 other stacks to
left gable.

Interior : housebody has 2 large spine-beams with broad chamfers and
ogee-stops.

Was once the local centre of Quakerism.
