Barn wall and crinkle-crankle wall. Late C18 crinkle-crankle
wall of red brick laid in header bond. Plinth course; no
coping. Late C17 timber-framed barn clad with late C19 red
brick. Plaintiled and pantiled roof. One storey. West side
with, from left to right, a timber loading door, a plank
pedestrian door, a late C20 garage door, and two late C19
3-light cross casements separated by a brick pier. Dentil
eaves cornice. Gabled roof. North gable-end with one late C19
3-light cross casement to ground floor; 2-light casement
above.
INTERIOR: timber frame of moderate scantling, the timbers
frequently replaced with re-used material of various dates.
C19 brick wall with rounded coping links north gable and with
No.5 Broad Street (qv). Forms part of a significant group in
Castle Street. Included for group value.
