This tablet is inscribed to the memory of James Marwood Elton of this County, Esq. for which he was High Sheriff in 1815 who died in London Dec 4th 1827 aged 52 years leaving four sons to lament the loss of a most affectionate parent. He was the son and heir of Edward Elton Esq. High Sheriff for the County of Somerset in 1780 and Frances his wife co-heiress and eldest daughter (who had issue) of James Marwood Esq and the above named Sarah his wife.
