Former hotel (now owned by MENCAP), Mainly early C19, but with some C17 at back. Slate
hung rubble, back rendered, hipped slate roof. A handsome double depth front block,
With back wing part of an earlier farmhouse. Front is 2 storeys, 3 windows;
16-pane sashes, central 4-panel door, part-glazed in flat-roofed portico on
slender Roman Doric wood columns to stone bases, sides glazed. Return left has
late C20 flat roofed extension, and 16-pane sash, then wing with casements;
return right has canted oriel with 4:16:4-pane sash over a 2-light glazing bar
casement, then 2-storey lower wing with various casements. Deep box eaves,
rendered eaves stacks. Interior has central stair with stick balusters; in
older back wing a fireplace with stone lintol, and another with large wood
bressumer to bead mould edge. Remains of butter well.
