Section of wall containing recess for stand pipe. 1871 (datestone), erected as a
"Mark of respect and gratitude" for M.J.C. Phillips who presented Bampton with an
improved water supply. Local stone. Round-headed recess with rusticated blocks of
masonry and sandstone inscription panel.
M.J.C. Phillips lived at Leburn House (q.v.).
