GV II

Barn. Early-mid C19 with later C19 alterations. Granite rubble with square quoins,
slate roof.
6-bay bank barn with lower ground level central front entry, central upper rear
entry; remains of later C19 horse engine shed to rear right and launder along rear.
Ground floor has cart entry with stone segmental head and keystone to left, smaller
stable door to right with brick segmental head, 2-light window opening to right with
brick segmental head; ventilation slit to right and left of cart entry and 3 slits
under eaves, loading door to left with pitched hood. Left and right returns have
blank gable ends. Rear has opposing cart entry, remains of former horse engine shed
to right, circle of granite monoliths remaining and infilled window opening in rear
wall of barn. Similar stable door to left, lower opening, rebuilt with concrete
lintel and remains of launder from former waterwheel.
Interior gear wheels remaining on rear wall from horse engine machinery; late C19 6-
bay roof of scissors trusses with 2 rows of purlins.
