Stocks in the churchyard about 3 metres north of north transept of Church of St Carantoc

Stocks. Probably C17, set under C20 gabled roof on granite piers. The stocks are wooden, set in front of a carved wooden board, with a low relief carving of William Tinney, circa 1817, with a carved description of how he was the last man to be put in the stocks, and his escape The story was recorded in 1886 from a witness, Richard Chegwidden.
