GV II

House. Circa late C17, eaves heightened circa late C19 early C20 extende at rear
C20. Painted cob with rubble footings, slate sills, wooden lintels. Scantle slate roof with brick chimneys over gable ends.
Plan originally: 2 rooms with hall left with rear lateral fireplace and parlour right with large fireplace possibly inserted in the C19 for use as forge; C20 2-storey extension at right angles to rear middle.
2 storeys. Irregular 2-window east front. Doorway, right of middle with 4-panel
door and old wooden gabled porch. C19 16-pane hornless sashes to ground floor window openings the right-hand one adjoining doorway and porch. Later 4-pane sashes in original small openings to first floor, the right-hand one slightly to right of porch ridge and the left-hand one farther left than ground floor window.
Interior simple but little altered since the C19 except for removal of ground floor partitions.
One of a group of C17-C19 buildings situated irregularly range around a village
square, which is an unusual settlement pattern in Cornwall.
