TL 51 NE GREAT CANFIELD
2/29 LODGE GATE

Lobby-entrance house, circa 1600, altered and extended in C20. Timber-framed,
plastered, slated roof. 4 bays with axial chimney in second bay from S end,
and internal chimney in N gable end. C20 extension to rear, C20 extension
including garage at end, 2 storeys. 3-window range of C20 metal casements,
C20 gabled porch. Stop-chamfered ceiling beam in N bay. Edge-halved and
bridled scarf visible in W wallplate. Original roof of clasped purlin
construction still present, collars missing, but totally enclosed by C20 roof
of softwood. No other framing exposed.
