House, C16, extended in C19, divided into 2 dwellings. Part timber-framed,
part brick, walls mainly plastered but with gables tile-hung, roof part
thatched, part tiled. H-plan, consisting of 2-bay small house with chimney
stack at E end, C16, E crosswing circa 1590, W crosswing C19, C19 or C20
chimney stacks in each; single-storey lean-to extension to N of middle section,
C18/19. Single storey lean-to extension to E of E crosswing. N elevation,
2 late C19 sash windows in each crosswing, 3 C20 casement windows in central
part, which is of one storey with attics, thatched; other roofs tiled.
Some framing exposed internally. E crosswing has jowled storey posts,
straight bracing trenched inside studs, clasped purlin roof, mortices for
early glazed windows, diamond mullions with intermediate stiffening bars,
as survive in better condition at Salkyns, serial no. 2/1. RCHM 6.
