2/65 Trenowth Millers House

GV II

Millers house. Early C19. Shale rubble with granite dressings, asbestos slate
roof and brick chimneys over gable ends. 2 room, double depth plan. 2 storey, 3
windows. Six panel door with rectangular fanlight off centre to right with same
width window over with 4 paned sash. Other openings are wider and have 6 pane
sashes with granite sills and jambstones with very shallow arches and voussoirs of
volvanic stone. Rear windows are 16 paned sashes except for taller 24 paned stair
window and wooden lattice ventilator to pantry. Interior has large bread oven in
back kitchen (possibly to bake for millworkers). Roof structure is jowelled king
post type pegged at joints.
