4/28 The Keeper's Cottage, walls and
fence to front

GV II

Estate cottage, walls, fence to south. Circa 1840's and extended later C19.
Slatestone rubble with granite lintels, sills and corbels. Scantle slate roof, half-
hipped to south, hipped to east of rear addition and gable ends to west with brick
chimney to rear gable and wide external rubble lateral stack to south, middle.
Irregular T-shaped 3-room plan. Simple traditional style with vestigial Tudor Style
details.
2 storeys. Irregular 2-window south front. Side wall of west wing left and half-
hipped end projects to right, ground floor left has original 2-light moulded wooden
mullioned window with 8 panes per light. Projecting large granite lintel on corbels
over. Ground floor right.-hand wider 3-light window is similar and with similar
lintel over. First floor left, 12-pane casement has moulded frame and gabled half-
dormer over. First floor right-hand 2-light wooden mullioned window, also original,
is similar to ground floor ones. Entrance to right-hand side (east) wall.
Interior not inspected.
Low rubble wall to front has rail and dowel fence. Similar gate. Wooden gateposts
with original moulded one with roundel to left.
One of five houses on the Trelissick Estate having certain details in common.
