Probably fish cellars, now house. Circa mid C18, partly rebuilt in early C19. Stone
rubble with slate roof with gable ends. Stone rubble chimney stack on lower gable
end. Built on the harbour walls, the 3-storey front rising from the harbour side.
Built into rocks at higher right hand end where it adjoins the quay. Also 3 storeys
at rear to Quay Road.
Harbour elevation regular 2-window front with small ground floor C20 timber balcony
projecting out beyond harbour walls. Part glazed C20 door to left and 3-light
casement to right with glazing bars. First and second floor each with 12-pane
sashes. Left-hand corner of higher end splayed.
Entrance in higher gable end with projecting C20 timber porch and 2-light casement
above. Indication of altered in openings with evidence of large openings probably
for fish cellars.
Quay Road elevation asymmetrical with casements on ground floor and C19 sashes above.
Interior not inspected.
In 1792 Jane Pearce leased the Old Pallace on the quay. Later it was rebuilt by
Zephaniah Job as Pier Inn.
