SX 36 NE CALLINGTON CHURCH STREET (east side),

8/21 Langmans Bakery

GV II

Shop with bakehouse to rear. Circa late C16 or early C17, bakehouse possibly late
C19. West front remodelled in C19 and C20. Rubblestone, rendered pebbledash to
front. Asbestos slate roof with gabled ends. Rendered brick stack on right-hand
gable end. Rear lateral stack of rubblestone with brick shaft. Rear projecting wing
of rubblestone with steeply pitched asbestos slate roof with gabled end. Large
rubblestone stack in gable end. 'L' shaped plan with rear wing further extended by
addition of bakehouse. 3 storeys symmetrical, 2 window west front. Ground floor
with late C19 shop front comprising 2 canted 8-pane shop windows with heavy glazing
bars flanking C20 central glazed door. First and second floor with C20 fenestration,
2 windows per floor in earlier openings. Upper floors not inspected.
