Wrongly shown on O.S. map as Nos. 4 and 6. Pair of cottages, early/mid C19.
Dressed sandstone; renewed clay pantile roof with stone ridge and gable
copings and block kneeler at right end. Rebuilt and rendered right end
stack. Single storey; 2 windows and central doorway to each cottage.
Mid-C20 doors up 2 and 4 steps respectively. Mid C.20 casements in original
openings. End and ridge stacks. Area/retaining walls to street, have
chamfered copings surmounted by painted timber picket fences, running east
to angle of curtilage of No. 49.
