Mid C18 house and shop. Painted stucco and local brown brick.
Slated roofs with parapet gables and mansard roof to front
elevation. End stack to south. Two storeys with attic and rear
outshut. Two symmetrical shop windows and central door in late
C19 architrave. Side passage to north with panelled door and
rectangular fanlight. Two flush-framed hung sash windows
without glazing bars. One, six-paned hung sash dormer window
with one single-light window to south. Originally the Elephant
and Castle Inn used by the 'lumpers' carrying corn from the
ships to the granary.
