Late C18. 2 storeys and attic. 6 windows. Brick headers with red trick surrounds
to 1st floor windows. Wide shop windows on ground floor with pilasters supporting
fascia. Steep pitched early tiled roof with high verges (covered roughcast), high
kneelers with a moulded brick capping. One late and one contemporary brick chimney
stack (latter stunted). 3 flat topped dormers with 2 light casements. Sash windows
on 1st floor, near flush framed, wooden cases with moulded edge, flat arched heads,
glazing bars. Remains of a string course at 1st floor level. Under the 3rd window
from the right is a high pedimented stone doorcase, plain pilasters supporting
an entablature with triangular pediment reaching the cill of the 1st floor window.
Panelled reveals and soffit, panelled door with rectangular light over. Plainer
chamfered doorcase on left.

Nos 23 to 49 (odd) High Street including No 25A form a group of which Nos 29 to
37 (odd) are of local interest only.
