Late C17 with later alterations and additions. Small 2 storey house of brick and
stone with steep pitched tiled roof, double gabled, and brick chimney stacks.
White painted stucco front. 2 widely spaced windows on both floors, C18 sash with
glazing bars; central entrance, simple low doorway with triangular pediment supported
on 2 plain consoles and broken over the semi-circular head of the doorway. Fanlight
with heavy tracery. Moulded wooden eaves cornice.

Nos 36 to 40 (even) Church Street form a group with Stratford House, Mill Lane
and all the listed building in the Market Square.
