- II
Lodge to Nutwell Court. Circa 1802, possibly by S P Cockerell, the architect of
Nutwell Court (q.v.). Apparently yellow brick, but probably 1/4 tiling (cf Nutwell
Court); hipped slate roof. Single storey T-plan with stack at intersection of the
2 ranges. Rusticated quoins to front facing drive; tripartite entrance arrangement
all enclosed in a semi-circular superordinate arch; panelled door. 6 pane sash
windows to other sides, with a later red brick extension towards the road (i.e.
east), link the lodge with the sandstone gatepiers surmounted by ball caps and
heavy wrought-iron double gates which are considerably later.
