House, now divided into flats. C17 with later additions. Cob on stone plinth,
with thatched gabled-end roof. Originally a 3-room, cross passage plan, with a
lateral back-stack and a rear wing, and a later left-hand extension, lower set
back, with its own brick end-stack. 2 storeys throughout. The front door is
placed left of centre with C20 open-framed and thatched roof, with, at ground-floor
level, 1 window on the left, 2 to the right. 4 1st-floor windows, 1 with a C18 3-
light casement with wooden mullions and leaded panes, all set high under eyebrow
eaves. The left-hand extension contains a ground floor, 10-pane casement window.
Interior (not fully inspected): right-hand ground-floor room contains fireplace
with Thorverton stone jambs and an unchamfered wooden lintel, and a fragment of a
stud and cob partition to right of cross passage. The building forms an attractive
group with Church View Cottage at the end of the lane to the parish church.
