Cornmill, now house. Probably early C19. Coursed rubble with quoins and slate
roof. 2 storeys with basement, gabled north-east elevation of 2 bays. Windows
have small-paned casements. Basement light to 2nd bay. North-west elevation
has lateral stack and small gabled wing which has recessed roughcast wall to
north-east with C20 door and window, the rear has casements, one round-headed
over entrance with glazed door. South-east elevation of 3 bays, windows with
small-paned casements, that to 1st floor 1st bay is former loading door.
Basement has C20 lean-to glazed sun lounge with engrailed parapet. South-west
facade has projecting wheelhouse, flat roof replacing lean-to roof, glass panel
inserted in balcony parapet. Mid breast wheel of iron and timber in dilapidated
state (1987). 1st floor has segmental-headed entrance with C20 patio doors.
Stack to angle. Interior altered but machinery in situ, mostly timber,
including stones. Despite modern alteration the preserved machinery continues
to make this building important.
