ST 89 NE MINCHINHAMPTON AVENING VALLEY

7/170 Small house (Building No 40)
approximately 30m north of Old
Mill building at Longfords Mills

GV II

Detached house. c1800, enlarged early Cl9. Coursed rubble
limestone; brick rebuilt chimneys; concrete tile roof. Three-
storey. Front: earliest part to right with pedimented doorway
removed from original to new central position upon enlargement,
this having rusticated stone columns and 6-panel door. Two-window
segmental arched casement fenestration to earlier part, except one
central casement to upper floor. Similar casement fenestration in
addition to left. Brick-rebuilt gable-end chimneys,. Single-
storey rear outshut. Interior not inspected. Probably built as
foreman or manager's house.
