The New Inn

II
Former detached house, now public house on end of row. Late C18;
early C19 additions. Coursed and random rubble limestone; ashlar
and rebuilt brick chimneys; stone slate roof, Welsh slate to rear
wing. Two-storey with attic; 3-storey rear wing forming L-plan.
Front: earliest part to right has 2-window 12-pane sash
fenestration with stone flat arches. Central doorway with flat
porch hood and 6-panel fielded door; illegible date plaque with
flat hood above doorway. Two gabled roof dormers. Part added to
left has 2 ground floor and single upper floor 12-pane sash, all
with timber lintels. Three ridge-mounted chimneys to front range.
North side: blocked doorway in gable end of front range. Wing to
left has 2-window segmental arched sash fenestration, 12-pane to
ground and middle floors, 9-pane to upper floor. Segmental arched
doorway to right with 6-panel door. Parapet gabled ends to wing
each with gabled-mounted chimney, east cut down, west with moulded
cap. Lower part of rear wing to left has mixed partially altered
fenestration. Interior not inspected.
