Dovecot. '1753' in blue bricks on S front, (possibly restored in C19),
for Duncombe family as owners of Stocks Manor. Red brick with blue brick
diaper and date on S front, steep red tile roof and white weatherboarded
tiled central turret. A tall, single-storey rectangular building facing
S beside the road. Roof ridged N-S but building wider than depth.
Projecting plinth and eaves band. Central boarded door in heavy frame
with 2-light unglazed rectangular fanlight over and no arch in the
brickwork. Small 2-light unglazed windows in heavy frame set high in
middle of E side. Pilaster at E end of N wall and N and W walls plain.
Square weatherboarded turret at centre of ridge with pitched tiled roof
and 3 pidgeon openings with shelves on S end. Interior walls lined with
twin nesting boxes in brick up to eaves level. Corner posts of turret
rise from 2 beams resting on the 2 purlins. Timber lintols to inside of
door and window.
