Corner site. A small C184O 3 bay stucco villa enlarged C1855-60, the new
addition to corner becoming the main house with the original (No 68A) as the
service wing. The original part has a symmetrical elevation with plat band
and central doorway with fanlight. Hipped slate roof. Revealed glazing bar
sashes. The 1855-60 Italianate addition is taller, also stucco faced with
plinth, rusticated quoins, applied parapet over ground floor cornice; console
brackets to eaves of hipped slate roof. Elevation to Harborne Road
asymmetrical with broad external chimney stack with bracket corniced shaft to
right hand; off centre pilastered porch with pilastered archivolt arched window
above; low set fan of similar windows to left. The south west return has 2
similar windows to left hand above pilastered tripartite rectangular bay
window with pent roof. South east garden front has a triple group of archivolt
arched windows, eared architrage sash windows and a big window with bracketed
cornice. The original house on this front has glazing bar sashes and a good
geometrical trellis verandah.
