Public house. C17 or late C16. Timber framed. Ground floor painted brick,
first floor hung with mathematical tiles. Some exposed framing towards end
of left wing and to right gable end. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys on painted
plinth. Steeply-pitched hipped roof, left hip returning. Projecting brick
stack to left gable end and buff and red brick stack in rear slope of roof
towards left. Brick stack towards front of right gable end. Irregular
fenestration of 3 casements; no windows to left, one 2-light casement under
stack and two 3-light to right. Half glazed door under flat bracketed hood
beneath stack. Rear lean-to. Timber framed rear return wing to left.
Exposed solid-spandrel arch-braces to right gable end, that towards front
carved with key and crown, that towards rear with fruit and flowers.
Interior: only partly inspected. Exposed framing. Large stone fireplace.
Evidence for continuous jetty to front elevation.
