Group of cottages, built around remains of Franciscan friary.
c1520, extended and modified as cottages c1700 and c1840.
Coursed and squared sandstone, raised in brick with some
timber-framing, and plain tiled roof.
Nos 23-25 comprise main range substantially built from earlier
remains. One-and-a-half storeys, 3-window range. Perpendicular
traceried windows cut to form doorways each side of central
inserted door with overlight. Upper windows are dormers within
the roof. 2- and 4-light Perpendicular traceried windows in
rear elevation, original stone traceried windows each side of
central window with wood tracery in original splayed
embrasure.
Nos 21 and 22 in timber-framed gabled wing beyond. No.20
projects from front elevation, added c1840 in simplified
neo-Gothic style. 2 storeys, 2-window range with doorway to
left and casement windows all with steeply arched heads.
