(formerly listed as The Wilderness Charity Almshouses, Stenders Road)

Semi-detached houses; 1857 (datestone); squared, roughly coursed
stone, ashlar dressings, tiled roof. L-plan, gable to road, one-
and-a-half storeys. Entry porch set diagonally in angle:
shouldered lintel to doorway, below pointed arch containing shield
and leaf carving; hoodmould over: door boarded. On right return
to porch a lancet window. Porch roof gabled, swept eaves, plain
bargeboards. Left gable of house, 3-light stone window, trefoil
heads to equal-height lights, below relieving arch, 2-light window
above without relieving arch. On right return single lancet.
Gable as for porch. Right-hand gable has plain, chamfered plinth,
with corner buttresses below plinth extending side walls. Ground
floor a recessed canted bay with ashlar voussoirs over, 2-light in
centre. Gable and window above as left gable. Lateral chimneys.
"HD" carved on shield, 'AD mdccclvii' on lintel to door.
