Farmhouse, now house. Late C16 with c1800 and mid-C20 alterations and
additions. Timber-framed, painted brick and rendered infill, brick replace-
ment walling and additions; plain tiled roofs. Three framed bays aligned
north/south; large chimney between central and north bay with brick ridge
stack and also large external chimney with offsets and rebuilt detached
stack at south gable end; timber-framed lean-to addition beneath catslide
roof to rear of central and north bay. Single storey and attic with dormers.
Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate; two rows of rectangular panels
to rear lean-to; large swept braces in lower corners of north gable end;
collar and tie-beam trusses with three struts to collar and V-strut in apex.
West front elevation: ground floor has two 3-light casements, a 2-light case-
ment, two square stair lights and a gabled dormer with 3-light casement.
Attic lights in gable ends. North gable end has plank weatherings at tie-
beam and collar level. Interior: framing largely intact; large swept braces
at lower corners of cross-frames. Central bay has moulded ceiling beams on
large consoles and large fireplace. Rear wing of c1800 at south end has
C20 lean-to glazed addition on south side enclosing main entrance which has
a ledged and battened door with cambered head. Also lean-to at front of
chimney at south gable end of original part.
