outbuildings

House. Circa 1912 for N R D Tennant an assistant master at
Haileybury. A large roughcast house with limestone dressings and
green slate roof facing W. 2-storeys and attics, with 3
roughcast central chimneys flat topped 2-light dormers and
entrance front symmetrical within a forecourt. This is separated
by a roughcast screen-wall with circular openings swept down to a
central entrance. The house has moulded stone ovolo mullioned
windows with rectangular leaded glazing, moulded stone eaves
course and rusticated quoins alternatively of exposed stone and
roughcast. Central moulded square door in parapeted stone porch
linking canted stone bay windows each side. 3-light mullioned
and transomed window over. One small and one large mullioned
window to each side. Terraced garden front on E with 2 tall 2-
storeys bays with 5-light mullioned window between, 3 dormers,
and stone rusticated arched balustrade to terrace. Contemporary
outbuildings in a service court on N end.
