Crossing piers (of the tower) also of octagonal section with high bases and octagonal capitals. This one has a benefaction printed on it. -William Chester of Knipton in the county of Leicester, deceased May the 17th 1703 Gave The yearly revenue of £3 (Three pounds) to the poor of the Town to be paid on the 10th December only. 2 Bibles of 7s(seven shillings) price given out of the said sum to 2 poor Children out of certain Lands in Barkston-.
