By the north door, Pendulum clock mechanism dated 1688 by John Watts of Stamford. The clock would have struck the time to tell the hours, it would not have powered an external clock face with hands. Over the years of its service, the original iron cogwheels have been replaced with brass and similarly with the bearings. (Photo Aug 2007).
