Cottage row and chapel. Late C18 and early C19. Red brick with plain tiled roof.
Nos 2 to 5 of two storeys with 4 stacks. Four glazing bar sashes alternating
with 3 blank window spaces on first floor and 4 glazing bar sashes with 4 rib
and stud doors all with round heads on ground floor. No 1 an early C19 addition
2 storeys and hipped roof with 2 glazing bar sashes on first floor and 1 on
ground floor with rib and stud door to left with traceried fanlight. Chapel at
end right built as Wesleyan chapel, dated and inscribed : Providence Chapel 1822.
Two blank window spaces and central glazing bar sash on first floor and central
boarded door on ground floor in double rebated surround. The older portion of
the cottage row is associated with the building of Eastry Workhouse.
