House and oast, now 2 houses. C15 extended C17 and C18. Timber framed
and exposed with plaster infill. Extended with painted brick. Plain tiled
roof. Hall house with rear wing. Two storeys, jettied to left on dragon
beams, with close-studding on ground floor; end right bay of brick. Hipped
roof with stacks at end left, rear centre and end right. Four wooden
casements on first floor and 3 on ground floor, to right with segmental
head. Boarded door with linenfold decorations to centre right in
reconstructed porch. Moulded cornice piece to lost doorway to centre left
(the original position of the entrance). Left return: painted brick ground
floor, framed over. End 2 bays at left weatherboarded and clad with red
brick. Irregular fenestration of 4 wooden casements. Interior: brattished
dais beam. Evidence of screens passage with four centred arched doorways and
large arch to service area. The rear wing (South House) was originally an
C18 oast house, now converted.
