Daniel Adamsons Coach House

A Grade II Listed Building in Shildon, County Durham

Daniel Adamson's Coach House

Uploader's Comments

Daniel Adamson (1778 - 1832)constructed this building across the road from his public house, the Grey Horse, Shildon in 1831. It was a ticket office and shelter for passengers which he carried by horse-drawn carriage on the rails of the Stockton and Darlington Railway. It is clear that Mr Adamson died in the following year and it is known that his son William carried on the service.
