Public house, now house. Early/mid C18, with c.1860 alterations. Coursed
limestone rubble and front of squared and coursed limestone; gabled Welsh slat
roof; end stacks of stone finished in C19 brick. 3-unit plan with rear outshut
2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. Stone lintel over late C19 half-glazed door
with bracketed canted hood, flanked by mid C19 canted bay windows with plate
glass sashes. Stone lintels over mid C19 two-pane sashes; 3 mid C19 gabled roof
dormers. Stair turret and mid C19 two-storey wing to rear; C20 porch to left.
Interior: chamfered beam to left, and boxed beam to right; early/mid C18
collar-truss roof with butt purlins. Formerly the Six Bells Public House,
founded in 1608.
