- approx. 20 metres to west
of Upper Berwick

GV II

Stable and coach house. Late C18, with early C19 and late C19 additions.
Red brick with plain tile roof. Stable block, extended with coach house to
the east in the early C19 and further extended to the west in the late C19.
(See straight joints). Two storeys. Integral brick lateral stack to rear.
Central stable with boarded loft door to left, 2-light wooden casement to
right, pair of ground-floor segmental-headed 2-light windows (the left-hand
is a casement), and central segmental-headed stable door. Coach house to
right with boarded loft door and depressed archway with hinge blocks and
pair of large boarded doors. Addition to stable at left with segmental-
headed wooden cross window and segmental-headed boarded stable door. Tack
room in right-hand part of stable, with fireplace and former groom's room
above. Included for group value.
