C17 and later cottage, probably timber framed. Roughcast facade, old
tiled roof half hipped at upper end (lower end adjoins next building).
Brick, centre and 2 side, chimneys, 1 1/2 storeys, 6 bays. Upper floor
has 3 gabled dormers. Lower, 5 windows and 2 doors. All windows leaded
casements. 3 of lower windows with shutters. Long, single storey, outshut
to rear.
The raised pavement and wall forms part of a group with Nos 5 to 19 (odd)
the South Oxfordshire Technical College Old School and Main Buildings,
Nos 43 to 49 (odd) and the wall and gate piers to former Paradise House.
Ancastle Cottage, Nos 2 to 36 (even) and the pavement surface in front
of Nos 2 to 36 (even) opposite. Ancastle Cottage also forms a group with
the entrance walls, piers and gates and the lower lodge of Friar Park.
