4/6 Lych gate at
Church of St.John
the Baptist

Lych gate. c.1897. Timber framed with gabled tile roof. Ashlar
plinth. Each side has 3 square posts with curved braces to
bressummer with moulded ends. Moulded arched tie beams carrying
king posts with curved braces. Scissor braced rafters with
spine beam. Openings have slatted panel infill. Pair of slatted
panel gates with moulded top rail and posts with scroll finials.
To left, wicket gate in similar style. Both gates have
decorative hinges. Interior has memorial brass, 1897. Included
for group value only.
