Farmhouse, divided into 2 properties mid C20. Late C16. Brick with thatched roofs. T plan, the cross wing placed to the north. West front of 2 storeys on plinth course. 2 doors in main range, that to left within moulded C16 timber surround. The door is planked and is protected by flat leaded hood. Door to right is C20 under hood on brackets. Entire facade decorated with brick diamond diaper in burnt headers. One 3-light C18 casement between doors and a C20 sash window to right of elevation. Blocked window under hood mould to left of C16 door. A further, similar, blocked window to right of door. 3 first floor 2 and 3-light casements of C18 and a mezzanine window lighting staircase, all in reduced openings. Gabled roof with rebuilt ridge stack over right-hand door and external gable end stack to south. This has flue rebuilt C20. In south gable a blocked ovolo mullioned first floor window under hood on labels. A diagonal sloping buttress supports wall. Rear of main block of 2 storeys and dormer attic. Kitchen outshut under catslide roof abuts cross wing, and, to its left, is a C20 outshut. To first floor are 2 2-light C18 casements, one of which partially blocks a 4-light ovolo mullioned window. 2 dormers in roof under eyebrow thatching. West side of gabled cross wing with burnt brick diaper. 2 C20 casements to ground floor and one each to first floor and attic, all in reduced openings. Gable head on moulded kneelers. North return of cross wing boasts 2 large stepped external stacks. Western stack with rebuilt flue, eastern one completely rebuilt mid C20 in common with wall to its left and eastern gable of this wing. Interior largely simple and altered. Doorway into ground floor cross wing has roll moulded jambs on tall bases. Similar door at rear into scullery. In south part of house a lobby entrance plan in evidence. Bridging beams here and to first floor are chamfered and with run-out stops. C16 plank back door. Roof of main range : tie beams, 2 tiers butt purlins, collars and straight windbracing. Cross wing roof similar but with some curved windbracing.
