Hamlet House and railings to front
steps

II

House. Early C18 with alterations c1800. Timber-frame encased
in rendered and colourwashed brick; flat-topped dormer with
2-light casement in plain tile roof; external brick stacks to
both gable walls.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, basement and dormer attic; 3-window
front. Central entrance elevated above basement on 6 steps
with cast-iron handrail. 6-panel door with 7-vane fanlight in
doorcase of narrow panelled pilasters with dentillated hood on
elongated fluted consoles and panelled reveals. To right and
left, one unhorned tripartite sash window with glazing bars
arranged 2/2, 6/6, 2/2. Three 6/6 unhorned sashes to first
floor. Plain parapet over dentillated timber eaves cornice.
INTERIOR: not inspected but likely to be of interest.
