Church tower. 1962-64. Weightman and Bullen (partner in charge J. Faczynski). Reinforced concrete. Four piers, tapering towards the top, where they join horizontal members to culminate in a cross. Five stages of different heights, the fourth from the ground solid sided with tiny irregular windows and a bell above. An integral part of the design of the R.C. Church of St Mary (qv), which is uncommon as an example of a circular church with a central altar and contains some fine works of art. (Church Building: October 1964: 3-9; The Builder: May 22nd 1964: 1061-3).
