War Memorial. 1921. William Douglas Caröe (1857-1938), architect.
Portland stone. Free Gothic, in form of a wayside calvary cross. Octagonal base with four steps, inscribed with the names of the dead. Plinth with set-back corners; fielded panels to each face, the central one with raised gilded lettering (in Free Roman capitals) reading HARROW ON THE HILL TOWN MEMORIAL. Above is an octagonal frieze with inscription in Lombardic script opening TO THE GLORIOUS MEMORY; lower register embellished with ball-flower ornament. Tapering cross on base above, with coped cover to top, cusped supports to transverse arms below.
