Pair of houses. c1840. Stucco with low-pitched hipped slate
roof behind pediment to slightly projecting central section
and cornice and parapet to outer bays.
2 storeys and raised basement, 2 bays each. Steps up to
entrances in outer bays; prostyle porches with dentil cornice,
Ionic capitals to No.162, cornice missing to No.160. Casement
windows, those to ground and 1st floor of central section
larger and in giant, slightly recessed segmental-headed
panels, those on ground floor with stucco and cast-iron
balconies.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Nos 144-166 (even) (qqv) form a group.
