Terrace of 4 houses. c1801-6. By James Burton. Multi-coloured
stock brick (No.18 upper floors refaced, No.20 top floor) with
stucco ground floors, Nos 18 and 20 rusticated. 1st and 3rd
floors, plain stucco sill bands. 4 storeys and basements. 3
windows each, except No.18 with 2 and blank return to Herbrand
Street. Round-arched doorways with fluted surrounds and radial
patterned fanlights (except No.24). No.18, doorcase with
pilasters and shaped brackets carrying cornice. Gauged,
reddened, flat brick arches to recessed sash windows.
Cast-iron balconies to 1st floor windows, except No.24 with
cast-iron guards. Parapets. INTERIORS: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached cast-iron railings with urn
finials to areas.
