Villa. 1835, enlarged and altered. White painted stucco,
hipped slate roof. Late Georgian style. Double-depth
double-fronted plan with small side wings and large rear wing
(probably added).
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 3-window range. Symmetrical, the centre
breaking forwards slightly; with a plinth, first-floor sill
band, plain frieze and moulded gutter cornice. The ground
floor has a rectangular porch in the centre, with pilasters,
plain frieze and moulded cornice, and glazed and panelled
double doors with an overlight of 4 square panes with
honeycomb leaded glazing.
Each of the side-wings (single-storey service passages) has a
panelled door with 3-pane overlight; that to the right now has
an added attic. All the windows are horned sashes without
glazing bars. Corniced side-wall chimneys.
Rear wing has sashed windows.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms group with former stables and coach-house to rear (qv),
facing Walton Street, with No.7 to the left (qv), and with Nos
11 & 13 to the right (qv).
