Pair of houses. c1830-40, altered. Red and yellow brick in
Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings, slate roof.
Double-depth plan built as a halls-adjoining pair, each house
single-fronted, with coupled back extensions.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys over a high basement; 4-window range.
Formerly symmetrical; with a plinth; coupled doorways up 6
steps, protected by a rectangular wooden porch with 2 arched
openings and a moulded cornice; 2 windows above this with
raised sills and wedge lintels; full-height canted bays to
left and right, with tall basement windows under wedge
lintels.
All the windows at No.11 (except that to the basement) have
2/2 sashes (lower-leaf glazing bars removed at ground floor),
but all those at No.13 have altered glazing. Rebuilt gable
chimney to No.13 (that to No.11 removed). Attached to left of
No.11 is a single-storey screen wall forming the facade to a
small service wing.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms group with No.9 to the left (qv), and with Nos 15 & 17
to the right (qv).
