Terraced houses, most converted to guest houses. Early C19.
Stucco. Roofs of Nos 20-21 of slate, No.24 of tile; the rest
parapeted.
EXTERIOR: 4 storeys over basement, Nos 20 and 21 with dormers.
2 windows each. Paired entries to Nos 18-19, 20-21, and 22-23,
flat arched with overlights. Each pair framed by fluted
pilasters topped by console brackets and cornice, supporting a
segmental pediment with raking cornice and tympanum decorated
with sunburst (arrangement similar to that of paired entries
of Nos 2-15 (qv). Entrance to No.24 is flat arched, framed by
Tuscan pilasters and entablature. To the side of each entry is
a full height bay with tripartite windows; all windows
flat-arched. All the bays are canted, except for No.19, which
is segmental to the basement and ground floor and then canted
above. Bay of No.24 has attached colonnettes of mid C19.
Balconies to first-floor bay windows on Nos 18-20, and 22-23,
all having cast-iron brackets except for No.19. First floor
verandah to No.21 mid to late C19, with wood uprights and
ornament as well as cast-iron railings; verandah with
cast-iron railings to No.24. Storey bands to Nos 18-19, and
stringcourses to Nos 20-24. Cornice and blocking course above
each. 2 flat-arched dormers to No.20, one flat-arched dormer
to No.21. Stacks to alternate party walls.
INTERIOR: not inspected. Railings to stairs and areas.
Nos 18-24 form a group with Nos 1-15 and Nos 28-31 (qv).
