GV II

War memorial in the form of an obelisk erected by the Royal
Sussex Regiment in memory of men killed in the Egyptian
campaign of 1882 and the Nile expedition of 1884-5. 1888.
Marble and polished granite. Square base with a square plinth
mounted on it with chamfered corners and the faces carrying
inscriptions in panels of polished granite, cornice with
pediments and antefixae; the obelisk proper forms the second
stage.
