Taken in about 1920, when my grandfather bought it. It had been used as a recovery home for injured 1st world war veterans, before my grandfather, George Stowe of Stowe and Co builders, bought it from the council. He split it into 2 houses by converting the servants rear wing into a rental house. My grandmother, May Stowe lived there until she died in the 1970s. The staircase and large oak fire place and over mantel were rebuilt in 1928 after a fire.
